“Diva and Divo Night,” the eighth episode of “Nigerian Idol” season nine, delivered the glamour and sparkle. The competitors sang hits by legends like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Miriam Makeba, letting their inner superstars loose.
There were nine competitors left in the competition after Jennifer Ugomu was eliminated last week. Following the tearful exits of Gracia and David Garland last week, there are now seven contenders fighting for the title: Tammy, Maio, Lady Ruth, Chioma, Lammy, and Stevie
Watch their incredible performances here! And never forget that you have the power to determine a contestant’s fate; vote for them now to ensure they continue competing:
Mira Clear
Mira Clear served the wealthy aunts in gold boots with class, attitude, and huge notes because she understood what they required! The singer’s rendition of Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You,” from the 2005 album “The Breakthrough,” enthralled Nigerian Idol S9 judges Omawumi, Ric Hassani, and 9ice.
Maio
It’s not simple to step into the disco brogues of Michael Jackson’s iconic legacy. However, Maio was motivated by his rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Heal the World” from the “Dangerous” album from 1991.
Chioma
Chioma gave a powerful rendition of Tina Turner’s classic song “Proud Mary” from her 1971 album “Workin’ Together,” shimmying and trembling in the process.
